Action! A Movie Themed Intro to Improv – Jersey Improv Lab

Jersey Improv Lab’s two hour Intro to Improv drop-in is for adults  who want to get a sense of what a typical introductory improv class looks like, for experienced improvisers who want to get more reps in, or for anyone who who wants to explore the world of movies in a different way.

The class follows the general flow of a typical introductory improv class, but the warm-ups, games, and scene work will draw inspiration from the familiar world of movies. To be clear, you do not need to be a movie buff. The theme is just an easy, fun starting point for beginner-friendly games, light scene work, and reimagining the characters, genres, and dramatic movie moments we all recognize.

The class will be led by Nick Carrillo, an NYC-based improviser and teacher whose movie knowledge is alarming in the best way possible. He also hosted the official Marvel podcast and produces The Secondhand Movie, a movie-fueled improv show in NYC.
