Pandemonium to Peace

September 11 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 pm

Conversation about 9/11 and its aftermarh facilitated by Nancy Colasurdo, Writer and Professional Coach

In 2016 Nancy published a memoir titled Alive in the Sunshine outlining her journey from the terrorist events of 9/11, through the collective and individual grief and fear, and then on to meaningful changes and profound revelations around purpose and what matters. She was not the only one who did that. Those horrific events inspired so much change. We’d like to open up for discussion how we can do this now, what we might bring from that experience to our current divide, and simply express as we let ourselves feel and dwell on the impact of 25 years.

Bottom Line Goal: Expression and sharing Additional Background: It is particularly meaningful to gather at Symposia for this event, as it was on the pulse of healing in Hoboken and beyond. Back in 2002, many in the community (including Nancy) participated in a commemoration led by the bookstore at the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival that invited residents, young and old, to write their feelings on a Post-it Note and affix it to a big board. It was so successful that Symposia brought it to Union Square in New York City, where many stopped to express and chat.
